Lian in the Dominican Republic
When his parents first saw Lian’s clubfoot, they thought it was beyond repair. But they still sought treatment.
An initial round of treatment didn’t correct Lian’s condition. His doctor then referred the family to a Hope Walks partner clinic in the Dominican Republic, their home country.
That referral marked a new beginning for the family. Lian received three casts and a tenotomy. The family faced financial hardship, struggling to afford transportation to appointments. However, with effort and perseverance, they never stopped taking him to treatment.
When the first and second casts were removed, the family was overjoyed. They finally saw improvement!
Today, Lian walks free of clubfoot, running and playing joyfully. His mother dreams that he will always enjoy a full and normal life, trusting that, with God’s help, her son will continue to grow healthy and strong.
