Liam in the Dominican Republic

Liam’s parents’ joy turned to fear when they saw his tiny feet turned inward—a condition known as bilateral idiopathic clubfoot. They worried about what the future held for their son.

At just one month old, Liam began treatment at Darío Contreras Hospital. The medical team applied three casts to reposition his feet and performed a tenotomy to release his tight Achilles tendon. The casting phase was challenging, with many sleepless nights because Liam cried in discomfort.

The turning point came when Liam received his braces—bars and shoes—to maintain the corrected position. His parents were overjoyed, knowing their son was on the path to walking independently.

Today, Liam is a happy, energetic baby who loves exploring the house. His laughter fills the home, reminding the family how far he’s come. His parents don’t see child with clubfoot but a future full of potential.
