Fadila in Niger

For over a year, Bichara faced heartbreak. Her daughter, Fadila, was born with clubfoot, a condition no one in their family had ever seen before. As her husband worked in Ivory Coast to support the family, Bichara navigated the challenges alone—caring for her children while enduring whispers from their community. Many saw Fadila’s condition as a curse, and the stigma was painful.

Hope arrived when they learned about clubfoot treatment at their local health center. Referred to the Regional Hospital of Tahoua, Fadila began her journey to healing. The hardest part wasn’t the treatment itself—it was the time before they knew help existed. But the moment Fadila received her first brace, everything changed. “We knew her condition was over,” Bichara shared with relief.

Through Hope Walks’ counseling, the family gained confidence and knowledge, ensuring Fadila’s successful recovery. Today, she stands on her feet, and her mother’s fears have turned into joy. “Before, we were upset. Now, we are happy. Clubfoot will no longer be a worry for us.”

With faith, support, and the right care, every child deserves the chance to walk tall.
