Enzo in Mozambique

When baby Enzo was born, his parents were filled with the joy that every new life brings. But their celebration was soon shadowed by an unexpected diagnosis—congenital clubfoot in both feet. To make matters more difficult, Enzo also developed jaundice and had to spend over two weeks in the hospital receiving phototherapy.

For Rosa and Fernando, devoted parents and faithful believers, the early days were not easy. They had expected a smooth start, especially after all of Rosa’s prenatal checkups had shown no signs of complications. But their response was unwavering. “We never allowed sadness to take over,” Rosa said. “We knew that if God had allowed this challenge, He would also provide the strength to overcome it.”

And He did.

After hearing about treatment options through a referral, the family brought Enzo to a clinic where they were warmly received. The doctors and parent advisors walked them through each step of the treatment plan. The first casting phase was tough—Enzo cried through the night after his first cast—but Rosa and Fernando stayed strong, constantly checking to ensure their baby was comfortable and safe.

Their perseverance paid off. The best moment came when the doctor declared that Enzo’s feet were progressing well and he could transition to the bracing stage. “Finding a cure for my son was more than a blessing in our lives,” Rosa shared. “It was living proof that God never gives us a burden we cannot bear.”

Today, Enzo is thriving. He has a big sister cheering him on and a family rooted in love, resilience, and faith. His journey is a reminder that even the hardest starts can lead to beautiful paths when hope leads the way.
