Ella in Zambia

Ella’s parents work at a prison facility in Zambia, so they are no strangers to people being unable to walk free as they please. But when their daughter was born with clubfoot, that concept took on a new meaning.

Though they had their doubts, the family was referred to a Hope Walks partner clinic. The treatment journey had its share of trials, as the corrective casts made Ella uncomfortable. Despite the difficulties, the family persevered.

Once they were in the maintenance phase, the braces were easier to use, and the healing that was taking place was clear for all to see.

“We are very grateful to God, Hope Walks and the physiotherapists for the work they are doing both spiritual, physical and the financial help given to us as a family,” her family said.

As Ella grows, she will be able to walk, run and play freely alongside her siblings—including a twin sister. What hope there is in freedom from clubfoot!
