Boniface in Kenya

Tobias and Everline’s simple, happy life was flipped upside down when their son, Boniface, was born with clubfoot.

Once rooted deeply in their community, the family began hearing rumors about Boniface’s condition being a curse. These painful assumptions caused emotional strain and left the parents feeling judged and isolated at a time when they needed support the most.

But a personal connection brought the family hope. A friend who had a relative with clubfoot shared their own experience and encouraged them to seek treatment. Boniface was two years old when they first traveled to a Hope Walks partner clinic in Kenya.

Starting treatment at an older age brought unique challenges. Caring for the plaster was especially difficult with an active toddler who did not understand the restrictions. Despite this, the parents remained committed.

What stood out during the treatment journey was Tobias’s involvement. He took full responsibility alongside his wife, showing concern and consistency that is rarely seen and giving Everline strength to continue even when the process felt overwhelming.

Moments of encouragement made a lasting difference. The family found comfort during devotion

sessions at the clinic, which reminded them that healing is not only physical but also spiritual. When transportation became a challenge, transportation assistance ensured Boniface never missed his appointments. Receiving a Bible was another deeply meaningful moment for the family, strengthening their faith during a difficult season.

Today, Boniface can walk well, a milestone that once felt impossible.

Boniface’s story is a powerful reminder that with timely information, compassionate care and holistic support, families can move from stigma and doubt to hope and renewed faith. His journey stands as a testament to the life-changing impact of clubfoot treatment and the importance of walking alongside families every step of the way.
