Coralie in Haiti
After being born with clubfoot, Coralie’s mother Livia was scared she would not be able to care for her daughter. She suggested to her husband, Louvio, that they take Coralie to the orphanage. But Louvio was his daughter’s biggest supporter. Unwilling to abandon his daughter, Louvio suggested they find treatment instead.
After hearing about Hope Walk’s partner clinic Hôpital Adventiste d’Haïti from a neighbor, Coralie began treatment. Tragically, during her first week of treatment, Louvio was killed on his way home from work. In efforts to honor her husband’s hope for his daughter, Livia continued to take Coralie to her appointments.
Now able to play with the other children in her community, Coralie’s mother is extremely grateful she found treatment. Even through the hurt of losing her husband, she still gives thanks to God for healing her daughter, and wishes her husband could see their daughter free from clubfoot.
