Dr. Eric Gokcen is currently the Attending Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, and was previously a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Temple University and Director of the Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery at Temple. He was also the Founder and Director of Temple Global Orthopaedics, the department’s global outreach program, which currently provides training to Kenyan and Temple orthopaedic residents.
Prior to that, he lived in Africa for seven years, working with CURE International as the Medical Director and Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at the CURE Ethiopia Children’s Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Kijabe, Kenya. While in Africa, he focused primarily on caring for disabled children but also helped found successful Orthopaedic Surgery residency training programs in both countries.
Prior to Africa, he was in private Orthopaedic practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is a member of Washington Crossing United Methodist Church. He and his wife Corinne currently reside in the Philadelphia area and have two grown children.
