“The restoration of faith and hope.” This is what Program Manager Ann Nyakio Nijeru says brings her the greatest joy in the work she does with Hope Walks in Kenya. Ann joined Hope Walks in January 2015, but before this she gained a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a master’s of business administration in strategic management. She has a passion for working in community development projects and volunteering in her community. She says that working for an organization that allows her to combine her passion of positively transforming lives while spreading God’s love is a great blessing.

Clinical Supervisor Victoria Kimathi loves to work with children. Being able to help them and their families is what drew her to joining Hope Walks in 2017. Before this, she worked at AIC Kijabe Hospital. She says that one of her greatest joys from her work is “improving a child’s opportunities in life by removing the obstacles neglected clubfoot would have caused.” Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University. When she isn’t working, Victoria enjoys reading fiction novels and spending time with friends and family.

Using his interests in counseling and ministry, Isaac Mutua Makau serves as Hope Walks’ Counseling Coordinator in Kenya. He finds joy in seeing both the caregivers and families connect with Christ as they interact with one another. He loves witnessing the correction of children’s feet and providing psychosocial support to their families throughout treatment.

Isaac has two master’s degrees, one in community care and HIV/AIDS and another in Christian counseling. He joined Hope Walks in November 2016. In his leisure time, he loves to adventure and connect with people, do charity work, and spend time with his children and wife.
